Codex usage limit: a local hook guard

Separate ChatGPT plan windows, with a stopping point you choose.

Peras asks Codex's local app-server for ChatGPT plan usage and keeps those windows separate from Claude Code. API-key-only sessions do not supply ChatGPT plan windows. Peras reads no login files or tokens.

Set up Codex

Node 18+ is required. Review and trust the hooks in Codex CLI's /hooks, then restart sessions. Setup outside Codex cannot confirm its hook trust setting.

Pause and resume

At a supported hook, a pause refuses guarded tools. Codex cannot give Peras an approval prompt: an ask line blocks until you resume. Inspect with npx peras-cli codex why; lift a stop deliberately with npx peras-cli codex resume 1h.

Usage is account-wide; parallel work can contribute to estimates. Stale readings can make a pause late. Hook coverage has exceptions and Peras does not cancel requests already in flight. It cannot add capacity or change reset days.

Free guard, optional app

The CLI, hooks, SwiftBar menu and source are free/MIT. The signed, notarized macOS app costs €4.99 once. Updates included. macOS 13+ and Node 18+; Apple silicon and Intel builds, tested so far on Apple silicon/current macOS. No Peras account for the guard or product telemetry; Polar handles app purchase/download.
